Well, as all of you involved with the club know, the anniversary of hide's death is today. (In Japan, tomorrow in the U.S.)

I suppose I can talk all I want about hide's death, that it wasn't the way out, that it could've been handled differently. There are many theories--did hide do this purposely? Was it an accident?

While people are arguing about that, hide is still dead.

I for one, don't believe suicide is cowardly, but at the same ironic time, very frightening. It's an act of desperation, and at the very least the "feeling" of escape. Desperation is very frightening, but I can't even imagine how much desperation hide was feeling. That's a lot of one kind of emotion, let alone all the others that were undoubtedly surging through his body.

His music touched us; his appearance intrigued us, which is why we still admire and love hide today. He hasn't changed to us, even if most of us found out about his music after his death. Despite that, it's good to have someone you look up to. Despite that, it's good to have someone to listen to. That you like listening to.

He jump started a lot of dreams, and I ask of you, if you have any respect for him, any kind of lingering love or affection, please carry out the dreams you have. Whether hide inspired them or not, just carry them out without any regrets. Target it---make sure it's what you want and fly with it.

You never know what will sneak up behind you, and what you'll do in reaction to it.

Instead of looking down on this in sadness, look up to the sky in happiness. I don't know how many times I've randomly begun singing: "Sweet creature soul! It's a lemon-lemon-lemoned I scream!"

Real Name: Hideto Matsumoto
Nickname: hide or hide the pink spider
Born on: December 13, 1964
Died: May 2nd, 1998 at 33 years old
he has been in 4 bands and also worked as a solo artist.
At his funeral he had 25,000 fans lined up to put flowers on his grave.
hide died from suicide. When the police found his body in tokyo, he had one end of a towel tied around his neck and the other end tied to the bathroom doorknob.also he was drunk that night.
At hide's funeral, the leader of x-japan, yoshiki, read this speech aloud

I'm very shocked to hear about his death. I still can't believe what has happened. Right now, he's sleeping with a beautiful face.I tried to wake him up many times, but he's still sleeping. Between the five of us, hide was the one who kept his calm and thought out things. Even though I was the leader, he was the calm one who gave me good advice when I was being short tempered and emotional.Of course with all of that pressure, he too almost lost his identity. But during those hard times, he'd always give me a call. We would talk about X, music, friends, life, fans, almost anything. He was like an older to me and sometimes like a younger brother too. We'd drink togethher and sometimes fight. But the next day, he'd come to me and say, "Yoshiki, did I do something last night? I'm sorry, I don't remember a thing." But this time, he didn't say anything back to me, sleeping. Too all fans and friends, you must all be confused. I too can not express this sadness in words But we must understand that this is a reality.Everyone please watch over his eternal sleep warmly.
